Taktsang Palphug Monastery

Also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is the most attractive spot of Bhutan. The monastery hangs on the side of a rocky mountain with fascinating interiors and this is what makes it so unique. But the uphill journey will make you cry.

Punakha Dzong

This popular Dzong is one of the ancient architectures which lie right in the heart of the captivating nature. It’s stunning, luminous white washed walls IS ITS striking feature. It is further decorated with woods painted with gold, red and black that completes the glamour of the Dzong.

Trashiyangtse

This is a small and beautiful town in Yangtse Gewog. It is known for excellent, traditional art work. The School of Traditional Arts or the sister school of The School of Traditional Arts in Thimphu is the main attraction of this place which produces highly skilled individuals in craftsmanship, such as, painting, ceramics, wood mold, wood-turning, enamel work and weaving.

Limbukha

This village is well known for Red rice production, which is believed to have medicinal properties. The environment here is peaceful and the people of this place are also very warm and friendly.

Phuentsholing

Jaigaon, an Indian bazaar town, is the main attraction of this place. It is the most visited by people from across the world for shopping. The place also offers a picturesque beauty to relax.

Wangchu River

This Himalayan River offers a plethora of water sports to its visitors. It is a tributary of Brahmaputra River. Other specialties of the place are that it offers a stunning view of the elegant SAARC building and of the glorious Samtenling Palace, the resident of king.

Phobjikha Valley

This is the most blessed glacial valley of Bhutan. It proudly lies there boasting amazingly rich greeneries, preserving many wildlife, flora and fauna like Himalayan black bears, sambars, leopards and red foxes. The most special is the black-necked cranes.

Tachogang Lhakhang Bridge

This is an iron chain bridge which was built in the fifteenth century by Drupthob Thangtong Gyalpo. It leads to the famous Tachogang Lhakhang Dzong. The place gives you a pleasing view of tall hills rising from serene lands. The river flowing swiftly underneath as you walk will on the bridge will give you a rush worth experiencing.

Dochula Pass

This is a spot, where you must stop as it offers an opportunity to observe the intriguing beauty, hard to find anywhere else in the world. The Pass lies, somewhere between Punakha and Thimphu.

Rinpung Dzong

Like other Dzongs, the walls this Dzong is also painted white and the woods in red, black and golden but the amazing thing about this one is that the woods of this Dzong are further impressively sculpted with beautiful images making it one of the finest creations of Bhutan.

  • Bhutan turned to Constitutional Monarchy in 1907.
  • Bhutanese call their home "Druk Yul," meaning "the Land of the Thunder Dragons".
  • Capital of Bhutan is Thimpu, the only capital in the world with no traffic lights. The traffic is controlled by white-gloved traffic police.
  • Bhutan had no roads, automobiles, telephone, postal system or electricity and no access to TV or Internet till 1960s.

  • Bhutan opened its Doors for tourists after 1974.
