Trekking is the only way you can reach up to the Monastery, however, we can reach you to the starting point by car from where you may take a horse up till the half way and from there walk up to the monastery. But, must admit, that the feeling up there, is rewarding enough.

Festivals in Darjeeling
Darjeeling is a home to people belonging to various caste and religion therefore all the festivals are celebrated with equal zeal and spirit. Few of the festivals of Darjeeling are, Dasain, Tihar, Diwali, Saraswati Puja, Magh Sakranti, Janmastami, Biswa Karma Puja, Saga Dawa, Lhabab Duechen, Drukpa Teshi, Phang Lhabsol, Losoong, Losar and Boomchu.
Momos
Also known as dumplings, is the most common and beloved food of Darjeeling. It is made of flour which is kneaded into dough and turned into thin, round sheets. It is both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. It is served with a bowl of hot soup and spicy achaar.
Dooars
Chilapata Forest
Located near Jaldapara Natiuonal Park, this forest is the most sorted spot in Dooars by the tourists because of its rich wild life and abundant serenity. Another main attraction of this forest is the ruined "Nalraja Garh". It used to be the fort of the Nal kings, built in the Golden Age of India, the Gupta period in the fifth century C.E.
Dooars Utsav
This is the most important and the most celebrated festival in Alipurduar. This is the most colorful moment of Dooars. A stage is set up and many programmes are organized. People from around come here during that time to celebrate and showcase their talent as well.
Dooars Cuisine
Their cuisine is similar to that of the rest of India. They eat both veg and non-veg food with the staple food being Rice served with dal and curry and some pickles.
